ONE in three 17 and 18 year olds in Cumbria are failing to have a vaccine against the cancer which killed Big Brother star Jade Goody.

But the county still has one of the highest take up rates among women that age in England.

The figures from the Department of Health show only 66 per cent of women aged 17 and 18 have received their first dose of the HPV vaccine which prevents against strains of cervical cancer.

But take up rates among 12 and 13 year olds are significantly higher at 86.8 per cent.

Nationally, 84.3 per cent of 12 and 13 year olds have had their first jab.

All girls aged 12 and 13 in Cumbria are being offered the vaccine to protect them against the sexually-transmitted papillomavirus.

It is also being offered to 17 and 18 year olds who missed out on the jab at school.

An NHS Cumbria spokesman said: “It’s really encouraging to see the high take-up of this vaccine in Cumbria.

“The HPV vaccine protects against the two types of human papillomavirus which cause more than 70 per cent of cervical cancers.

“The HPV vaccination should ensure the 11 or so women who currently die each year from cervical cancer in Cumbria falls significantly in the years to come.

“However, because it doesn’t protect against all HPV viruses, it will be essential that girls, like their mothers, take part in the NHS cervical cancer screening programme once they are old enough.”

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women under 35.

About 3,000 women are diagnosed with the disease in the UK each year.

Around 1,100 of them die.

Comment from Leslie –

In September of 2008, the FDA released on closing statement on Gardasil that stated “over 73% of young women who receive the vaccine will develop new medical conditions within a year. ” It is not hard to do the math on this and realize that this is nothing less than genocide on adolescent women across the world.  I go back to the question is this a mass birth control/misogony program – or what? Sorry – I cannot figure this one out…..

Cynthia Janak took the figures from World Census Report – broke down by major country the girls eligible for the vaccine and then multiplied that number by 73% .  As you can imagine the numbers are so astronomical – they will break the health care system in every single country.

Once again – let’s set the record straight – Jade Goody died of cervical cancer because she did not follow up with her screenings with the doctors.  She did not die of cervical cancer because it it a “killer” disease – nor did she die because she was not vaccinated.  The HPV vaccine does not work on girls already exposed to the virus.  SO STOP MAKING AN EXAMPLE OF THIS POOR WOMAN WHO DID NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HER MEDICAL CARE – WITH THE INTENTION TO SCARE MORE YOUNG INNOCENT WOMEN INTO GETTING THE DAMN VACCINE.  THAT IS MANIPULATIVE AND WRONG.
