Join Leslie Carol Botha on Wednesday October 29 when she interviews Chandler Marrs PhD about her work and research in the area of mitochondrial dysfunction and vaccines.

Chandler Marrs, PhD, is proud mom of 20 year-old twins, a research scientist, an entrepreneur, a lifelong jock, and a fierce women’s health advocate. She has spent the last 15 years in women’s health research, first in perinatal mental health and hormones, and more recently in medication-induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Dissatisfied with the state of health and hormone research, she created Hormones MatterTM, an online journal featuring research reviews, commentary, and patient stories across a range of health topics. Concerned with the lack of medication testing in women and children, she conducts online, direct-to-patient, real world medication safety and efficacy studies through her company,Lucine Health Sciences. Her most recent endeavor is the online social health site, Heal with FriendsTM, focused on finding healing solutions for complex and chronic diseases and medication and vaccine reactions.

According to Chandler, “Dynamic and functional changes to mitochondria are emerging as culprits in the more complicated adverse reactions we observe post medication and post vaccine. Recognizing the potential for mitochondrial damage post reaction is difficult, especially those impacting the nervous system.”

What are Mitochondria?

Mitochondria are tiny compartments – energy generating factors found within cells. They perform different important functions to maintain a healthy homeostasis.

They generate the energy our cells need to optimally function. Brain cells, for example need a great deal energy to be able to communicate with each other and also to communicate with parts of the body via hormones. This communication relay takes a great deal of energy. What happens when toxins and other heavy metals in vaccines and medication cross the blood brain barrier? Can mitochondrial dysfunction play a role in autism and chronic illness?
chandler marrsHormones Matter™ is an online, community publication dedicated to advancing hormone-health research. We are the official blog of Lucine Biotechnology, a research and diagnostic company and Lucine Women, a soon-to-be-launched, direct-to-woman, social health platform for crowd sourcing health research. We believe that by giving women the tools to understand, measure and manage their health, we can improve health for all women together.

This publication is part of Lucine’s campaign to prove hormones matter. At Hormones Matter™ we are changing the conversation; showing the world that hormone health matters by providing personal stories, evidence-based news and health research, and provocative – even humorous – commentary on the state of women’s health and women’s health policy.

We encourage the sharing of ideas and comments from our readers. As such, the opinions expressed on this site are the opinions of the authors and, unless otherwise stated, do not necessarily reflect those of Hormones MatterTM or our parent company, Lucine Biotechnology.

Marrs has also initiated a series of surveys on women’s health called “Real Women – Real Data.”

She explains that Lucine and Hormones Matter are dedicated to improving women’s health with more research and data. Marrs states that according to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Journal, fewer than 30% of OB/GYN clinical practice guidelines are based on evidence. That is unacceptable to us and should be unacceptable to you too.

We intend to change that, one health survey at a time.

Why I Use Oral Contraceptives Survey

The Hysterectomy Survey

The Gardasil Cervarix Survey

The surveys are very important to fill out.  It is very rare to have an independent researcher collect data from an independent – not pharmaceutical – funded study.  This is where the truth about oral contraceptives, hysterectomies and Gardasil and Cervarix will be told.

If you are tired of hearing – “Its all in your head,” then take the time to fill out the appropriate data. As for the Gardasil Cervarix Survey, Marrs is encouraging women who had experienced no adverse reactions to the vaccine – as well as those who have experienced adverse reactions, to take the time to fill out the comprehensive survey.
