74,323 Responses to Memorial Document on Gardasil

Some of you might be aware that I am proud to be a part of a small group of women from around the world who have been raising concerns about the HPV vaccine.  We have researched and written papers and articles – many of which are posted on my blog and discussed on my radio show.

The papers are published under Global Concerns about Gardasil and Victims of the Gardasil Vaccine…Other web sites have picked up and run with these articles as well – and the documents have gone global – even making it to Russia earlier this summer.

Our colleague, Ed Dickau has a blog called  Le Café Politique De Camus De Café. He was kind enough to post our papers including the September 2009 Memorial Document to the young women who lost their lives to this deadly vaccine. http://lecafpolitiquedecamusdecaf.blogspot.com/2009/09/gardasil-and-how-it-has-affected-lives.html

We received this email from Ed tonight regarding the comments on the Memorial Document:

GARDASIL NOTE!  In other matters: The latest Gardasil post has drawn 74,323 responses, only 17 of which consider our concerns to be nutty and counterproductive. There are many more sad stories that have not made the media!!!

74,323 responses in less than a month. I am amazed, shocked and floored.   I am hoping that Ed will give us access to the responses so that we can find out others who have suffered from this vaccine.  We will then have the numbers to really hit our legislators and governments to put an end to what has to be the deadliest vaccine on the market.

  2. With your posting you made the Google News Alerts. That means those who have been following will now meet you and your site.

  3. Ed – I was hoping that would be the case – I also directed them to your site – so you will also get more notice….although it appears that you do have quite the following. Just read the other information that you posted….OMG – thank you so much. Will check out your site again as well.

  4. The CDC’s webpage on GARDASIL was updated on June 10, 2009:

    Current totals are:
    24,000,000 doses distributed
13,758 VAERS adverse event reports (0.06%), but only 0.004% were deemed “serious”.
26 confirmed deaths (0.0001%) after administration, but there was no pattern to the deaths that would suggest that they were caused by GARDASIL.

You had a 100 TIMES larger chance of being killed in a car accident in 2008 than you did by receiving the GARDASIL vaccine:
    37261 deaths/306,000,000 population = 0.012% deaths

  5. You are missing the point on all of this.
Facts are one thing – reality is another.
The whole vaccine issue needs to be looked at in the big picture of the overall health of all people – and the cumulative toxic load not only from vaccines, but from all environmental toxins. We have no idea of the long term effects – although Dr. Andrew Moulden has some good theories.

The deal is that there are safe vaccines available – without the adjuvants and dirty toxins. This alone would satisfy most people who are concerned about vaccinations as they exist right now.

  6. “Facts are one thing-reality is another.”
I’m sorry — as a scientist, I know facts ARE reality. Innuendos, circumstantial evidence, and unproven theories are NOT reality. If taken as reality, they can cause much more real damage than the supposed damage claimed by the alarmist theories. Consider the following quotes and supporting links:
“Merck’s (MRK) Gardasil HPV vaccine has been under fire for awhile now from some groups in the US, and oddly has even been asked to carry a safety warning by the FDA, despite science showing the warning should not be there.”

“The [CDC} study looked at girls injected over two years and didn‚Äôt find any evidence that the vaccine is dangerous. This comes on top of eleven and a half years of trials on Gardasil and its competitor, GlaxoSmithKline‚Äôs Cervarix. Gardasil alone has been through more than 16 million doses. From all that, there are currently only 10,326 adverse event reports. Of those, only 6 percent are serious. And of those, only 27 were deaths. Drilling down further, we find that only three ‚Äî 3!!! ‚Äî of those fatalities were unexplained. All the others occured in people with drug problems, had heart failure, meningitis, etc. …. About 15 percent of American girls and younger women have now received the shot, so an epidemic of side effects should have shown up by now. It has not. Certainly it is true that the CDC should not always be taken at its word. But the big Gardasil adverse event scandal is increasingly conspicuous by its absence. Thus it is time for all those reporters, lawyers and activists to start explaining to their audiences that perhaps, just perhaps, this is one vaccine that isn‚Äôt actually harmful. “

  7. Facts are reality? Well, I guess…but it depends on one’s perception since all of our realities are different and we all abide by different values, and mores depending on cultural norms – and so “facts” also differ depending on one’s perceptions, experiences, history etc. There are those who believe that the Holocaust never happened… They have their facts…not a battle I choose to become involved with – but scary all the same.

I was just about ready to pick up my toys and go home – when I decided to look at the link that you sent and realized it was close to a year old. Facts and reality can change from moment to moment based on new information.

We do not have all of the facts in this case….as in most cases. But then again, the Bush administration had all the facts and the president still forced his own agenda by telling the American public that there were WMD’s in Iraq – so I guess we could argue the point about the reality of facts until the cows came in….

So until all the cows come in and with only 1 to 10% adverse reactions being reported to VAERS – all we can do is educate and substantiate our concerns based on fallacies and loopholes in Merck, FDA and CDC reports of which there are many.

Our documents have been reviewed by government officials, doctors, researchers and other scientists. If what we had written/reported was conjecture we would have been called on it…and we have not.

So I am staying…and you are welcome to stay too – or you can take your toys and go home – whatever. Change is not easy – new ways of looking at old ideas are challenging at best.

Many professionals are frustrated with the VAERS reporting system and we all know that if something is reported to Merck – it will not be disclosed. Their reputation with ghostwriters – manipulative advertising and the Vioxx debacle certainly does not lend to their being a credible source.

Drugs, are drugs, are drugs – legal or not and Big Pharma has gotten away with too many “facts” based on their own inside studies to give them free reign to push their products on millions of people – whether or not they do any good is of little concern. Just check the business section of any newspaper and that becomes real clear.

If your argument held water their would be no drug recalls. We are the guinea pigs….the longest and most reliable studies are those done on the targeted population – and they are many pharmaceuticals that have been recalled because in the end the risk outweighed the benefits.

We are talking about a virus for goodness sake….Fact: – in over 90% of the cases the HPV virus will pass through a woman’s body in two years. Cervical cancer is one of the least prevalent cancers of all cancers according to the American Cancer Society…. There are now more cases of Alzheimer’s than there are breast and prostate cancers combined as reported by the National Hormone Institute….yes, aging population blah, blah, blah, however autism rates in infants are on the rise too.

We are walking into new territory here and if we want to keep our mental faculties intact it is going to mean that we have to re-evaluate everything that we put into our bodies.

And you are a scientist with whom?

  8. So now let’s get one of your facts straight: Autism DIAGNOSES appear to be on the rise — there is no solid evidence that Autism itself is on the rise. If a one year old link is too old for you, try this one (from today):
There indeed may be an environmental link along with genetic ones for a myriad of illnesses. In fact, a genetic blood test that could indicate possible reactions to a vaccine would be a great medical breakthrough and save lives by helping the 1 in a million person who is harmed by a vaccination. But until that time, the benefits of life-saving vaccines outweigh the miniscule risk. Vaccine alarmists accentuate the negatives while ignoring all of the horrible suffering and needless deaths that have been prevented (polio, measles, diptheria, HPV, etc.) through the use of vaccines. Please consider the 6 million women who will get a new infection of HPV this year (http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm) before you spread your fear.

  9. Fear and Facts are two different sides of the same coin – don’t you think?

I am not spreading fear – in fact if you were familiar with my blog you would be aware that I collect information from reliable news sources that do not focus on fear mongering – which I personally abhor. The blog is educational so that people can have the information that they need to make their own decisions.

But back to Autism – the link to the current Newsweek article is very interesting and informative. However, I am not sure if you read it thoroughly since it states:

Parent surveys often yield unreliable data because respondents may misremember or misunderstand what doctors have told them. But the Pediatrics study is backed up by a second, more reliable set of data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The full results aren’t out yet, but on Friday, CDC researchers reported that one in 100 8-year-olds has been labeled with a disorder on the autism spectrum. That number is based on the same methods that yielded the original 1-in-150 statistic—so using CDC data alone, it’s certain that autism diagnoses are on the rise.

I posted an article today – actually a white paper (April 2009) from the NeuroScience Institute titled “Neuroimmunology of Autism Spectrum Disorder” that states:

“Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by immunological and neurological abnormalities. The role of cytokines in the pathophysiology of autism has been researched suggesting a relationship with altered blood-brain barrier permeability and subsequent neuroinflammation.”

It is well known that the toxic adjuvants in the vaccines cross the blood brain barrier interfering with the neurological development of a person of any age.

And there was this article that appeared in an Australian paper in September 2009:
Study by Flinders University detects signs of autism in first weeks

A WORLD-FIRST study on siblings of children with autism is showing that signs associated with the behavioural disorder appear in babies in their first weeks of life.

Australian numbers are even lower than CDC numbers….

One last article from the National Hormone Institute Report Finds Alzheimer’s Killing More People Than Breast And Prostate Cancer Combined

Whether we agree to disagree – or not – it is becoming apparent that neurological diseases may be rising faster than pathological illnesses.

Basing decisions on facts or fear is an individual choice….but I do think that we should be collectively concerned.

  10. I did read the article, and your reposting it shows that it says exactly what I said: “…it‚Äôs certain that autism DIAGNOSES are on the rise…”. With the scope of symptoms and behaviors widening to include things that were not included in years past, it is impossible to say that autism itself is on the rise, only that doctors’ diagnoses of autism is rising. There are too many holes in the theories of the anti-vax conspiracy people, like why boys are more affected than girls, why autism diagnoses have increased AFTER the supposed cause, thimerosal, was REMOVED from vaccines, and why there is a higher rate of autism among twins:
So I do believe that environmental effects play some small, minor role in autism, but the majority of current scientific data points towards genetics. With that in mind, I do find people who attempt to skew (or blatantly misrepresent) the data as being 100% environmental causes of autism as “spreading fear”. And borrowing from one of your earlier posts, since it all “…depends on one’s perception…”, intentionally skewing gullible Internet surfing parents’ perception with only one side of the vaccine story is not only morally wrong, it could be considered criminal if those parents withhold vaccines from their children who then go on to contract and die from readily-avoidable diseases.

  11. I am not anti-vaccine – my colleagues and I consider ourselves to be safe vaccine advocates. So perhaps you need to find an anti-vaccine blog to post your comments…..although they may not be as open as I to exchanging ideas. As far as intentionally skewing parent’s perceptions – and by the way on their behalf I object to the word “gullible” – especially when television advertising is geared to the misinformed – and Big Pharma has been called on the mat as a major player on that one. However, I am sure that is acceptable to you because it is “the system” and it is how the system “operates…and it is acceptable – never mind the millions of gullible children and parents – young and old who watch.

But I digress, so to the point – we all get the mainstream side of the story rammed down out throats every moment of every day. There are very few places that people can go “to get the other side of the story.” And there is nothing wrong with that. How can anyone make an informed decision without knowing all sides? I think your objections should be with the media and not with what I am doing…..I am just posting the information that is out there. But I will rise above your uncalled for derogatory comments. I am providing one place where people have easy access to a wide source of information. And that is powerful – but not criminal. But I understand that is also where the threat lies.

I do agree with you that genetics is the major source of concern. And our genetics now contain all of the environmental toxins including excess estrogen and other hormones, heavy metals, pesticides, drug residues, plastics, air & water pollutants, pharmaceutical & illegal drugs, cosmetics – teflons – anything that is inorganic – that we have been exposed to over the last 50 plus years.

To single out vaccines is not dealing with the entire issue – however, just as other technologies are rising to meeting the changing tides – organic foods, green industries, (and remember when they were all ballyhooed too) there is technology available to produce safe non-toxic vaccines. The military already has access to single strips the pure serum that are put over the skin like a band aid. Parents want access to the same thing. What the hell is wrong with that?

So appreciate the time that you have taken to post on my blog – but I suggest that you move on to the anti-vaccine folks….tho as I mentioned they probably will not be as tolerant. Personally, I have enjoyed the exchange of information.
But I have other work that I need to do….like warn women about the dangers of synthetic hormone suppressants.

  12. Don’t shoot the messenger.

    CBS News.

Could Hepatitis B Vaccine Be Harmful?
In New Research, Vaccinated Monkeys Showed ‚ÄúSignificant Delays” in Development of Critical Reflexes Compared to Control Group

Interesting culmination to a dynamic discourse – don’t you think?

  13. I suppose you mean this article:

Well, I in fact DO have to shoot the messenger. The study in this story was run by Dr. Andrew Wakefield, the British researcher who originated the MMR vaccination scare with a study that was later totally discredited. In fact, ten out of Wakefield’s twelve co-authors of the Lancet paper later published a retraction of its conclusions. Wakefield has been accused of altering his scientific data to fit his theories, and has been accused of professional misconduct.
CBS’ article makes no mention of the doctor’s widely-known poor scientific reputation. Maybe my use of the word “gullible” wasn’t so far out of line? 😉
Interesting culmination to a dynamic discourse Рdon’t you think?

  14. Delighted to see your comment – and thanks for catching the fact that I did not include the link to the CBS article.

If I were you – my response would have been exactly the same.

I am aware of Dr. Wakefield’s controversial past. However, considering that the real messenger, CBS – who I am sure is also aware of his past- reported the story there must be some merit to this latest study.

History is filled with great minds; scientists and researchers who were ahead of their time as they tried to shift paradigms of thought. They all struggled with getting their theories correct and accepted. Pressure from peers and the public is intense and their works were scrutinized and debased for their avant garde ways of thinking. Even Einstein, Galileo, Christopher Columbus were all criticized for their theories – Nelson Mandala jailed, Martin Luther King Jr., John & Robert Kennedy assassinated, the Suffragists jailed, Margaret Sanger – mother of the birth control movement imprisoned- until eventually the collective consciousness is ready to accept their conclusions.

In other words – guilty until proven innocent or exonerated.

Perhaps that is the case here – perhaps not. But the door has been opened and I am sure that more studies will ensue.

It takes great courage to be a fore-thinker and to persistently push for paradigm shifts in consciousness.
