So my daughter told me that state Senator Kay Hagan was going to be at a local community college today, imagine how surprised I was when I got there and found out it was actually Governor Bev Perdue!
Well, on her way out of the lobby, while Perdue was surrounded by a ton of police, media, assistants, etc. I yelled out “Governor, has anyone spoken with you about the Gardasil issue”? She stopped in her tracks and asked who said that, so I walked forward through all of the police, media, etc and went right up to her hand extended and said ” Hi Governor, my name is Marian Greene and I need to speak with you about this Gardasil issue. It’s killing and harming girls all across this country”. Well, we talked for a few moments and she then handed me off to her assistant. The first words out of her mouth were about whether or not we were involved in a class action law suit. I informed her Erin Brockovich was looking into the problem, but we were interested in getting our daughters well, not the money.
The woman looked like she had never heard anyone say something like that before! She asked if we had contacted the FDA, and I said yes, but they are endorsing the vaccine and that no one was speaking up about the other side of it, about the girls that are dying or that are injured and suffering every day! At some point in the conversation, the Governor’s Rep for this part of the state came up and started speaking to me as well. It turns out that the rep has a 16 year old daughter and it has been a recent debate at their house whether or not to get the shot.
BINGO! She was instantly PERSONALLY involved, which I think is the key. So I urge you all to contact those reps closest to you and try to find personal ground so that they become emotionally invested. That’s how we will get their help, I believe!
Anyway, the Rep and I are to get together soon, so that we can go over the Gardasil information. It has been a great day! 🙂
