Lisa Ericzon’s story begins on February 22, 2009, the day she came home from work to find her beautiful, all-American daughter lying dead on the bathroom floor. Lisa’s life would never be the same again.
Only those parents who have lost a child of their own can understand the devastation caused when you suddenly lose a precious member of your family. To make matters worse for Lisa, there was no apparent reason for her 17 year-old daughter’s sudden departure. Jessica didn’t smoke, she didn’t drink or do drugs. She was very rarely ill. In fact, Jessie was the picture of health.
The medical examiner working on Jessica’s case expended a huge amount of effort trying to find out why this healthy all-American girl suddendly died, but could not find a cause. Her death was listed as undetermined. Lisa and her family were left with nothing to go on, nothing to explain their sudden loss.
Lisa’s daughter had received her third shot of Gardasil just two days before she was found. Wondering if, perhaps Gardasil had something to do with her death, Lisa ran a Google search on Gardasil. The information available to her at the time, made her jaw drop. Young women were being injured and dying after their Gardasil vaccinations.
After hours and hours of research conducted within days of Jessie’s passing, Lisa and her family were convinced it was Gardasil that took her daughter. The problem was how do you prove a vaccine caused your daughter’s death?
