ABSTRACT
An epidemic of accusations against parents and baby sitters of Shaken Baby Syndrome is sweeping the developed world. The United States and the United Kingdom are in the forefront of such questionable practice. Brain (mainly subdural, less often subarachnoid) and retinal haemorrhages, retinal detachments, and rib and other bone ‘fractures’ are considered pathognomic. However, the reality of these injuries is very different and well documented: the vast majority occur after the administration of childhood vaccines and a minority of cases are due to documented birth injuries and pre-eclamptic and eclamptic states of the mothers.

Introduction: An increasing body of peer-reviewed evidence indicates that when a woman is pregnant, transiently elevated cytokines can induce atypical brain development in her embryo or fetus. Illnesses and vaccinations induce elevation of cytokines, and these elevations can be heightened in individuals with alleles of genes related to immune responses. An implication of citations supporting these relationships is that vaccinating pregnant women is likely to induce cognitive and behavioral pathologies in as least some children whose mothers were vaccinated while the child was in utero. Schizophrenia and developmental disabilities are pathologies that may ensue.

This past evening I watched a story on KFVS12 regarding the risks of the Gardasil vaccine. As a physician I feel it is important that I speak out against potentially misleading information that may be harmful to the public.
In the initial story, two parents describe horrific events that happened to their children which they believe were caused by this vaccine. No other information was disseminated regarding any of the other facts surrounding the cases, just anecdotal beliefs. There was no mention of the other substances which were consumed in high quantities shortly before the teenage girl’s death that were more likely the culprit based on medical knowledge.
