The “delicate” balance between estrogen and progesterone (both produced in a woman’s body) are not meant to be overproduced through chemically induced food. When a woman consumes too much estrogen, especially through chemically induced products, the balance is thrown off.
A recent study has shown that a potent sunscreen ingredient, oxybenzone, may be a cause of endometriosis. This condition occurs when uterine tissue grows in abnormal sites in the abdomen and causes severe pain.

Progestogen Treatment Options for Early Endometrial Cancer
Cade TJ, Quinn MA, Rome RM, Neesham D
Cancer therapy has improved significantly in recent years, and the concept of care has changed as well. Whereas in the past, cancer therapy was radical and definite, now new, more conservative surgical options, more focused radiation therapy, and chemotherapy with improved side effect profiles have been introduced.

The endometrium undergoes cyclic changes. During the follicular phase, under the influence of estrogen, it proliferates, whereas after ovulation, under the influence of progesterone, the endometrium undergoes secretory changes. If pregnancy does not occur at the end of the cycle, once the support of the corpus luteum subsides, menstruation follows and a new cycle begins. If this cyclic function is disrupted, abnormal changes in the endometrium may follow. When the endometrium is exposed to unopposed estrogen, it continues to proliferate, and hyperplasia with cellular atypia may develop. If left untreated, this condition may give rise to endometrial cancer.
Retrograde menstruation is the backward movement of menstrual fluids through the fallopian tubes and into the peritoneal cavity. Although the exact reasons that cause retrograde menstruation to occur are unknown, the condition is believed to be a major cause of endometriosis. Certain signs and symptoms can suggest the occurrence of retrograde menstruation; if symptoms occur, health experts recommend seeing a gynecologist or health care provider.
Women with endometriosis appear to be more likely to develop certain types of cancer. What scientists know about the link — and why it might occur — were the focus of a session at the inaugural symposium of the Endometriosis Foundation of America.

These days, young women are besieged by many challenges. Social pressures, economic concerns, health problems, schoolwork, and family tensions all tilt the stress barometer into the dangerous red zone. Skipping meals, eating junk food along with starvation diets have become a way of life for teenagers. More than ever, young women seem to be burning the candle at both ends.
Women’s lifestyles and behaviors directly affect their physical and emotional wellbeing, both for the short and long term. It’s no wonder that their hormonal health is under attack.

Endometriosis implants can occur outside the pelvis, on the liver, in old surgery scars, and even in or around the lining or brain. These implants, while they can cause problems, are benign or not cancerous. Briefing the press in commemoration of this year’s Endometriosis Month (March), Managing Director of Nordica Fertility Centre, Dr Abayomi Ajayi disclosed that the exact prevalence of endometriosis is not known, since many women may have the condition and have no symptoms. It is estimated to affect over one million women in the United States.
