New Delhi: Cervical cancer vaccine guidelines are not accurately adhered to! Despite Union Health Ministry’s effort to survey the link between the cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil and four deaths occurring in Andhra Pradesh.

In this regard the department of health research moved a step further to declare that a proper guideline on the trial of cervical cancer vaccine is not properly being adhered to.

Taking a look at the ethical lapse on behalf of the ministry, the committee has come to a decision that “trial of the vaccine as also the approval for its marketing in the country to be enquired into by the premier investigating agency and to take further appropriate follow up action in the matter.

It also asked the findings of the investigative agency.” It has also been confirmed that four deaths in Andhra Pradesh was not due to this vaccine but due to poisoning, drowning and pyrexia.

Each year 4.9 lakh women are affected by cervical cancer and 2.7 lakh die globally.
