Leslie Carol Botha: Nothing to lose and everything to gain. So hard to break out of the box – and look into alternative therapies when we are so used to taking a pill and the symptoms of depressive disorders and anxiety disappear. But do they really disappear? Or do they rear their ugly heads in a different way? For women and men, hormone imbalance is becoming an epidemic. What do hormones have to do with depression? Everything. Hormones rule…. and if the body does not have the nutrition it needs the rulers become dark and oppressive – instead of benevolent and kind.
Think about it. What is the one thing lacking in your life.

Kate was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. She was prescribed Zoloft to treat her mood disorders. After a few years, the medications weren’t working like they once had. She was beginning to have more bad days than she was good. That is when she heard about Truehope Nutritional Support from a friend who had great success with their products. She learned that Truehope offered effective vitamin/mineral products such as EMPowerplus and sophisticated programs that seemed like a viable option for her. Kate decided to give Truehope a try, and her life has never been as great.

First of all this website is amazing!
I had a good four year stretch of feeling good and in control of my anxiety. That being said, I was diagosed at 19 with a anxiety disorder and have been on zoloft and a small dose of kloopin ever since. I have had 1 major relapse since then about 4.5 years ago. During that time I was still on the pill and antidepressant medications, and me with a functional medicine doctor that did testing and found I was in adrenal fatigue. I was on supplements from neuroscience for a few months and felt fairly well. I then stopped the pill and quickly became pregnant with m daughter. During my pregnancy and breastfeeding I felt great with only anxiety symptoms creeping in during ovulation time, but I was able to handle them. I stopped breastfeeding when m daughter was 18 months ( September 2011). My periods were normal up until this May. I had some mid cycle bleeding and a very long cycle. This July, the week before my period my whole life turned upside down and I has been this way ever since. I was irritable, crying, anxious, scared, depressed, and disappointed. When calling my psychiatrist, she told me, ” It’s all in your head”. My functional doctor repeated a saliva test which revealed my cortisol and dhea levels sky high high as well as my serotonin. She made some tweaks on my current supplements but things have not been getting better. I had some rays of hope a few weeks but then everything came spiraling down again the week before and of my period. I am a the end of my rope, I am a successful, mindful, fun-loving 27 year old. This is putting a strain on all my daily activities and my most important roles as a wife and a mom. I just want to feel like me again and maybe all along this anxiety disorder has been hormone related? My functional doc wants me to do another salva neuroendo test but I have to wait until day 21 of my cycle and then 3 weeks afte for results. I just am so tired of waiting and suffering. I need answers, I need my life back.
Thank you for reading this long post!!!
Your website gives me hope
Hello Heather – glad you found the information here to be very helpful. A lot of work and education goes into this site.
When you were diagnosed with anxiety disorder at 19 – you were probably hormonally imbalanced…. and I bet you sought help after a tough premenstrual phase. That is what most women do – and since doctors do not recognize hormone imbalance or they do not take the menstrual cycle evaluation into consideration, women are sent home with drugs. I call it the “Take Two Valium and Go Home Honey Syndrome.’
Ok you got the amino acids part right for balancing the brain. And am glad you were on the NeuroScience Inc. product. Was it Adrecor?
But what you are missing is the nutritional part and that is what Truehope Empowerplus can offer.
Look at what a zinc deficiency can cause:
Zinc: activates a multitude of enzymes; is a component part of insulin; necessary for protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism; immune system, growth, detoxification. Symptoms of zinc deficiency: lack of growth, proneness to infection, tiredness, and wounds won’t heal properly, virility problems, menstrual problems, lack of energy, skin cracks around mouth, depression.
I am also going to be carrying another product called Progessence Serum Plus. It is a natural progesterone with essential oils that can be applied daily. The Essential Oils repair the DNA and clean out the cell receptor sites from the synthetic hormones so that the natural hormones and nutrients can enter and nourish the cells.
I will have more information on that next week.
Since you are the first to post here – I am going to direct you to another post where over 200 women have commented on their hormone imbalance induced anxiety: Hormonal Imbalance Anxiety a Precursor to Other Health Issues
I will be glad to email you a chart to help you track your symptoms of anxiety, depression and fatigue in relation to your menstrual cycle.
You do not need to wait another 21 days for another test to determine you are miserable.
Start getting nutrients into your body.
You are probably estrogen dominant just like the rest of us so balance with a natural progesterone.
Lets get you back to being the successful beautiful vibrant 27 y.o. mother, wife and woman that you want to be.
Hormonally yours,
Leslie
PS – let me know if you want me to email you a chart…..
